บทความนี้เขียนขึ้นจากประสบการณ์จริง ของพาเมลา ฮิลล์ เนตเติลตัน อยู่ในนิตยสารเรด บุ๊ก ซึ่งรวบรวมความผิดพลาด จากชีวิตสมรสของเธอ ชนิดกลั่นออกมาจากใจ ทำให้พอจะมีบทเรียนเล่าสู่กันฟัง เป็นอุทาหรณ์ไม่ให้คุณผู้อ่าน ก้าวพลาดอย่างที่เธอเคยถลำมาแล้ว เธอเขียนไตเติลว่า “ทุกครั้งที่ฉันแต่งงาน ฉันคิดเสมอว่า มันหมายถึงการผูกพันตลอดกาล แต่ที่ไหนได้ ฉันโชคร้าย และผ่านการแต่งงานแล้ว 4 ครั้ง หลังหย่ามา 3 หน” จากประสบการณ์หย่ามา 3 หนนี้เอง ทำให้เรียนรู้ถึงเคล็ดลับที่จะใช้ชีวิตคู่ อย่างมีความสุขสักที จะได้ไม่เป็นม่ายถาวร เหตุนี้ถ้าใครอยากมีความสุขในชีวิตรัก จงรู้ไว้เถอะว่า...

 

1. อย่าเปลี่ยนเขา แต่เปลี่ยนตัวคุณเอง อย่างไรก็ตาม ถ้าเขาทำอะไรให้คุณไม่ชอบใจชนิดรับกันไม่ได้จริงๆ ลองบอกสิ่งนั้นให้เขาฟัง แต่อย่าใช้น้ำเสียงโมโหโกรธาหรือตั้งท่าจะราวี

 

2. บางครั้งคุณจำเป็นต้องปฏิบัติไปตามกฎของคนที่คุณรักบ้าง ไม่ควรทำอะไรตามแต่ใจตัวเอง อย่าลืมว่า คุณกำลังใช้ชีวิตอยู่ร่วมกันนะ ไม่ใช่เป็นโสดอีกต่อไปแล้ว

 

3. ปรับจิตใจตัวเองเสียใหม่ ไม่ว่าคุณจะเป็นคนเหล็กแค่ไหน ถ้าต้องอยู่กับใครสักคนขึ้นมา คุณต้องดัดแปลงทัศนคติ, ความคิดและการแสวงหาความสุขแบบเดิมๆ มาเป็นในลักษณะที่มนุษย์ 2 คนทำร่วมกันได้แล้วจะรู้ว่า ชีวิตยังมีเรื่องสนุกให้ตักตวงไปพร้อมๆ กันอีกหลายอย่าง

 

4. แต่ขอให้ระลึกไว้ว่า คุณเป็นคนควบคุมชีวิตของตัวเอง จะทำสวยหรือโปรยเสน่ห์ให้เขาหลง ก็ขึ้นอยู่กับคุณเองนั่นแหละ ว่าจะหมั่นทำตัวเซ็กซี่หรือปล่อยเป็นพะโล้

 

5. คุยถึงเรื่องที่ดีและไม่ดี ให้กันและกันฟัง

 

6. บางครั้งก็ต้องเป็นหมอ (จิตแพทย์) ที่รักษาเรื่องบาดหมางระหว่างกัน

 

7. พูดให้น้อย แต่ทำให้มาก ซึ่งประการหลังหมายถึงหมั่นแสดงความรักต่อเขา เช่น จุมพิตกันบ่อยๆ  หรือส่งสายตาระยิบระยับให้กัน

 

8. รักในข้อบกพร่องของคนที่เรารัก

 

9. ทำใจให้ได้ว่า ผู้ชายไม่ชอบเรื่องหยุมหยิมของภรรยาเหมือนกันทุกคน

 

10. ตรงข้าม ผู้ชายจะต่างกันในเรื่องการเอาใจใส่ภรรยา

 

11. อย่ากังวลกับเรื่องจุกจิกมากเกินไป เช่น บางคู่แม้แต่ยาสีฟันยังใช้คนละยี่ห้อ จึงเสนอวิธีคลี่คลายปัญหาซื้อมันเสียทั้ง 2 ยี่ห้อนั่นแหละ จะได้ไม่ต้องพะวงว่า ควรซื้อยี่ห้อไหนดี

 

12. ถ้าจำเป็นต้องมีปากเสียงกัน ให้เลือกทะเลาะในเรื่องที่ฉลาดๆ หน่อย อย่าลืมว่า ความคิดต่างกันไม่ได้หมายความว่า เราไม่รักกัน

 

13. ท่องไว้ว่า มีทางออกสำหรับข้อขัดแย้งทั้งปวงเสมอ

 

14. หัดใช้ความเข้าใจเป็นสะพานเชื่อมถึงกัน

 

15. อยากจะรักกันนานๆ ควรปฏิบัติต่อกันอย่างให้เกียรติและนุ่มนวล

 

16. อย่าสับสนว่า ชีวิตสมรสจะเหมือนการออกเดท เพราะมีอีกหลายอย่างที่คุณต้องฟันฝ่าอุปสรรคร่วมกัน

 

17. ถ้ามีปัญหาในชีวิตคู่ ควรช่วยกันแก้ไข โดยเฉพาะปัญหาใหญ่ๆ อย่าตัดสินใจคนเดียว

 

18. หยุดชี้นิ้วสั่งโน่นสั่งนี่ เป็นเจ้าแม่ เสียทีเถอะ

 

19. หวานใส่กันเรื่อยๆ เช่น อย่าลืมกระซิบคำพูดแสนหวานให้เขาฟัง, จูงมือกันยามเดินข้ามถนน หรือแม้แต่บอกให้เขารู้ว่าเขาจะพิชิตใจคุณได้อย่างไร
